Shoaib Akhtar (Urdu: شعیب اختر) is a Pakistani cricketer born on 13 August 1975 in Rawalpindi, Punjab. Shoaib Akhtar is known for his express fast bowling, and is nicknamed as, Rawalpindi Express. He holds the record of being the world's fastest bowler. Shoaib Akhtar made his international debut in a Test Match against the West Indies in 1997 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. He didn’t look very promising as he took two wickets in the first innings, and went wicketless in the second innings. Not untill 1998, when Shoaib was again picked for the One day debut in march against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club, where he bowled only five overs and took a single wicket of Andrew Flower caught behind by Rashid Latif.
