Tatenda Taibu

Tatenda Taibu (born May 14, 1983, in Harare) was educated at the Churchill Boys High School. He made his test match debut for Zimbabwe in 2001 and was appointed vice captain for the tour of England in 2003 following year in was appointed captain. Whilst as captain he scored his maiden Test hundred against Bangladesh 153*. In 2005 announced his retirement from the international scene. During 2005-06 he played as an overseas player for Namibia and Cape Cobras in South Africa. In 2007 he returned to play for Zimbabwe and scored his first ODI hundred against South Africa. Tatenda was the only Zimbabwean to take part in 2008 Indian Premier League (IPL). He was signed by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a sum of US$ 125,000.
