Dennis Keith Lillee (born 18 July 1949 in Subiaco, Western Australia) is a former Australian cricketer considered one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of the game. He led the Australian attack for more than a decade, playing 70 Tests and collecting 355 wickets, a Test record at the time of his retirement in 1984. He was most successful against England, taking 167 wickets in 29 Tests against them. He burst onto the international scene in the 1972 Ashes when he took 31 wickets at an average of 17.67, that performance earning him selection as Wisden Cricketer of the Year for 1973. He was elected to the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame in 1996, one of ten inaugural members.
